Dear Traveler:

Thank you for your interest in Peruvian Amazon Rainforest Expedition. You’ve read about the wanton destruction of the rainforest and the startling statistics on how many acres are being lost every day. Fortunately, there are still many areas in the Peruvian Amazon where you may find pristine, virgin rainforest; we are located in one of these areas. During the summer months of July and August, trips will be guided by Orlando. The remainder of the year an expert, a local guide who is fluent in both Spanish and English, will be your guide.

All departure dates are flexible.

After reading it, we hope to hear from you, and look forward to having you join us on an adventure to the mysterious Peruvian Amazon. Please feel free to write for further information.

The climate in the Amazon is warm and humid with average daytime temperatures of 80-90 degrees and nighttime temperatures of 60 to low 70’s. Rain is frequent, but usually for short periods of time. Humidity is high.

We visit small villages and remote areas where outsiders seldom go. You may wish to bring a few items to give or trade with these people if possible. The following items are recommended: clothing (especially T-shirts and shorts); first aid supplies; pencils, erasers, and notebooks; flashlights and batteries; fishing items; and soccer balls. To pay for any additional expenses in Iquitos or at the lodge you can use U.S. dollars in small denominations. We recommend you bring lots of one dollar bills. Credit and debit cards are good for back-up funds, but cannot be used along the river or at the lodge. There are ATM machines available in Iquitos.
